Off the ground, Tokyo
Tokyo based rental company Sound Service MMU recently purchased a 24kW rig SOUND PROJECTS SP4-Diamond line array. The system arrived just in time to be unpacked and rigged for the 'Off the Ground' dance party, located in one of Tokyos hottest and largest discotheques, the Differ Ariake. The powerful trance/techno mix that Israeli guest-deejay Oforia squeezed out of the SP4 rig impressed the new owners as well as the audience.
The system was flown in two vertical arrays of 6 SP4-D per side, with 6 SP4-15 sub low systems per side on the floor and a centre fill of 2 SP3-60. For the deejay monitor 2 SP3-60 and 2 SP3-B were used. Spokesmen of Sound Service MMU and Air Lab (the company responsible for system design) said: "We were astonished by the coherency of the high frequency coverage of the SP-4 line array, what great quality and power. Actually we didn't need the full power at all. We are looking forward to working with the SP4-D system this summer many times, also in large open air festivals."
