SIGMA SERIES Amplifiers

To complete the Linex non-powered line array system SOUND PROJECTS unveiled two new switch mode power amplifiers for the touring and corporate PA markets: the Sigma-Series SP2600 and SP4600.

"Though this is a major deviation from our 16 year-policy of exclusively manufacturing self-powered speakers, we felt, that due to it's very nature, an array speaker like our new Linex systems would never be used stand alone." says Sebastiaan Tiller, technical manager for Touring Sound at SOUND PROJECTS. "Additionally, each enclosure should be capable of dissipating more than 3000W peak, which equals a lot of heat. We could not economically design a power amplifier light enough, cool enough and powerful enough to match a Linex cabinet, so external amplification is the logical solution. The new Sigma power amplifiers meet perfectly the needs of our line array customers, as well as many others. They are extremely lightweight (14 kg), cool running and will deliver comfortably the power demanded by the Linex arrays."
