Gluon: unobtrusive infill- or spotmonitorFrankfurt, March 2006
At ProLight+Sound the baby of the SOUND PROJECTS family will be introduced to the public: SOUND PROJECTS Gluon™. This extremely small, versatile and lightweight speaker system is designed as infill- or spotmonitor. Unobtrusive but at the same time tremendously conspicuous because of it’s high acoustical output.
Because of the multi-angle cabinet construction the SOUND PROJECTS Gluon™ will comfortably fit in, in any stage or studio set-up or eliminate dead spots in a theatre or concert performance. Ideal in situations like: theatre front-row infill, nearfield and orchestra spot-fill, under balcony spot-fill, etc. Gluon™ is too small to obstruct sightlines but in spite of its minor size, capable of high acoustical output with exceptional linearity.
The Gluon™ is configured as a single amped, 2-way system. Dual channel, 16 ohm NL 4 input and outputs are standard. With 3-ohm load, up to 12 cabinets can safely be driven from any good quality power amp with a single 4-pole speaker cable.
The long excursion 5-inch woofer is selected for a smooth response and high output. The horn loaded 1” diaphragm HF driver endows the Gluon™ with a distinctive smooth high end response.
For enhanced intelligibility, extra headroom is available in the vital speech band frequencies. The silky smooth, high frequency reproduction allows adding 'air' to any musical reproduction.
