Installation update South-Korea

Seoul, Januari 2006

SOUND PROJECTS is becoming a respected PA brand in the Korean entertainment industry. Over the last year local distributor Sound Solution has acquired a strong position in the PA market by installing sound systems in several large theatres and churches and by delivering systems for important events.

For the Performing Art Center of Hanbat National University, Sound Solution installed a fixed installation in the Harmony Hall. This auditorium can host a 909 seated audience and any art can be performed, even a grand opera; 200 men can be on stage at once. The university decided to install a powered sound system to secure consistency and reliability. SOUND PROJECTS was selected specifically because it combined smooth music reproduction as well as very clear voice production from one and the same system without the need of any intervening equalisation.

The installation consists of several SP3-90D positioned in a left/right/centre set-up augmented by SP3-15 and SP2-15 subs. Four X-act monitors are available for stage monitoring or spot in-fills depending on the scale and nature of the running production.

Leaders from 21 Asia-Pacific economies have gathered in the new Nurimaru APEC House for the “2005 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting” in the middle of November. The Nurimaru APEC House has just been constructed on the Dongbaek Island, just in front of the city Busan. This city is known as the major Korean harbour, but also is the centre of Asia’s film and audiovisual industry.

Sound Solutions was responsible for the installation of the sound system. Transparent speech, intelligibility, very compact size and unobtrusive finish were the decisive ingredients to opt for SOUND PROJECTS. The installation is based on the front loaded, full range SP3-90D augmented with SP2-15 subs, to be completed with a few X-act monitors.

The Kintex exhibition centre in Seoul, Korea is equipped with facilities and an infrastructure that is more sophisticated than most other exhibition centers elsewhere in the world.

The impressive oval Grand Ballroom is a large-scale meeting room for international conferences and can accommodate up to 2,000 people. The ceiling is 10 meter-high and the meeting room is decorated with a state-of-the-art interior, equipped with simultaneous interpretation in eight languages and advanced A/V capabilities including quality screens and projectors.

The undistorted high SPL and plug-and-play design of the SOUND PROJECTS 4 system were major selection criteria. Accordingly the sound system for this venue is based on the SP4-Diamond/SP4-15 subs; in the middle of the hall augmented by two delay clusters of SP3-60/SP3-15. Here too a number of X-act monitors complete the installation.
