Eurogress expands FOH with DreamLineAachen, Germany
International congress centre Eurogress Aachen already upgraded it’s sound reinforcement system with a Sound Projects Linex array system. Now this system is expanded with a set of Sound Projects’ unique line array in-one-box: DreamLine.
The main venue of the immense Eurogress, the 'Europa Saal', does not only have a large capacity (2500 standing or 1800 seated) but also a large stage. The three five split stage has a continuous variable height and can be lowered down to floor level, to give place to an additional 200 seats. The stage also has a variable depth from 3 meter up to 16 meter. This variability was the reason for Axel Dresbach (Eurogress technical manager) to add the DreamLines to the existing line array system of 16 x Sound Projects Linex.
The DreamLines are rigged up on both sides of the stage and are used as frontfill/infill/downfill. Dresbach explains: ”The choice for this system was not complicated. Sound Projects had already supplied the main system, which works excellent when working with maximum stage depth. With a smaller stage we found the near field now was the weakest link. Looking for a solution we initially thought about using 8 Sound Projects X-act monitors as front fill. However, difference in output level between the seats near the stage and a few meters back were too large. Jan (Slooter, MD Sound Projects) then suggested to use the DreamLine and we were excited ever since we tried it.”
Dresbach is very satisfied with the DreamLines: ”The system has a convincing first-class sound, it is very easy to handle and the sound fits the existing Linex installation perfectly. And nonetheless delivers the required SPL next to the Linex system” Eurogress also purchased another 4 Sound Projects X-act monitors. These are being used flexible as stage monitor, sidefill or as a simple small PA kit. Dresbach: we adore the small X-act; the monitor has a superb sound for it´s size and is ever so easy to handle.”
